We’re looking for a Ceph Developer who will work on a scalable, cloud-native storage platform built on Ceph and Kubernetes. You’ll help design, develop, and optimise core components of Ceph to improve performance, reliability and scalability for large-scale, cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features in Ceph (RGW, RADOS, RBD, CephFS)
- Optimise storage system performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot distributed storage and low-level system issues
- Contribute to the upstream Ceph community
- Integrate Ceph with Kubernetes through Rook and CSI drivers
- Improve system observability using metrics and telemetry tools
- Work in an Agile environment with design reviews and documentation
Must Have
- 5+ years of experience with C++ and Python
- Hands-on experience with Ceph (RGW, RADOS, RBD, or CephFS)
- Strong understanding of Linux internals (I/O, memory, threading)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Rook, and Ceph CSI drivers
- Experience using Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to large-scale, cloud-native or distributed environments
- Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
Nice to Have
- Contributions to open-source projects (especially Ceph)
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or OpenStack
- Familiarity with S3 and Swift object storage protocols
- Experience with performance profiling and storage benchmarking
